Located at 226 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60604, Exchequer Restaurant & Pub operates as a pizza restaurant serving Chicago in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Exchequer Restaurant & Pub at (312) 939-5633; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, exchequerpub.com.

Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 3,207 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Chicago.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I absolutely loved this place! It has a classic Chicago vibe with plenty of character, making it a fun and memorable spot to dine. The personal-sized deep dish pizza was the perfect option and packed with great flavor. The salads were an unexpected highlightβ€”fresh, flavorful, and honestly better than some I've had at upscale steakhouses downtown. Everything was well prepared, and the overall experience was fantastic. I'd happily recommend this place to anyone visiting Chicago.

The Sicilian deep dish is comfortably the best I've had - its strong tastes are blended together in just the right proportion. Signature ribs fell off the bone. Portions are generous, service is friendly and alert. Booth tables a bit too cramped for 4 adults

We took a quick trip to Exchequer Restaurant & Pub and decided to stop in for lunch, easily one of the best decisions of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere felt warm, cozy, and comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The menu also had a great variety of options, so there’s truly something for everyone. My husband, my daughter’s boyfriend, and I ordered the Steak Frites with french fries, onion rings, and sweet potato fries, while my daughter chose the Mediterranean half slab with sweet potato fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the ribs were tender and practically fell off the bone, and the sauces paired beautifully with both dishes. If you’re visiting Chicago and looking for a welcoming spot with great food and generous portions, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

This was my first stop after dinner on a neighborhood bar crawl, so I didn't get to try the food, but really wish I did. Everything I saw bring served looked great. I had a few drinks at the bar just enjoying the atmosphere of a downtown Chicago bar/restaurant. Not a huge beer selection, but the bartender was nice and actually recommended the place next door for a bigger beer menu (I stopped in and reviewed that as well). I did find there entrance to the speakeasy, Club X, which was very cool and a totally different vibe than this bar. This was more restaurant than bar and looked like a great place for a family dinner outing or food and drinks after work.

Really cool restaurant/bar with lots of history. We had the Chicago deep dish pizza with sausage and Italian beef and Reuben sandwich with corned beef and waffle fries. They were both tasty but the pizza was amazing, so cheesy and just awesome. We had amber ale, espresso martinis and pomegranate martinis. All were great. Highly recommended, make sure to call in.
